Offered for sale is this wonderful 1/9 plate wooden case with mother of pearl inlays (Berg 6-368, VVR, p. 458). The mother of pearl design is of a bird sitting on a branch with floral detail and border. The case comes with a ninth plate ruby ambrotype of a man with tinted cheeks and gold tinted shirt pin. The photo still has the original paper seals. The inside of the case has a red velvet trim piece and photo retainer. There is a slight crease on the case front, but otherwise is in very good condition!
