Offered for sale is a double sixth late thermoplastic case with two ambrotype photographs of sisters. The first photograph is of a beautiful little girl wearing an off the shoulder print dress. The second photograph is of a younger sibling in a similar pose. Although the sibling in the second photograph is also wearing a dress, I believe it’s actually a photograph of a little boy. Both photographs have the original paper seals with black (painted) backs to provide contrast. They photos come in an exceptionally nice (almost mint condition) double sixth plate thermoplastic “Mother Embracing Child” (Berg 1-13, S, p. 70) with tight hinges and closure. The photographs come with identical, nearly flawless mats and preservers and with a very good velvet trim piece. Overall this is a very nice pair of ambrotypes in a beautiful case that will make a great addition to any antique photography collection.
