This is an exceptionally nice image of a little boy holding his favorite toy. At first glance, it’s easy to assume the photo is of a little girl, especially since the subject is wearing a dress. A common practice of the time was to dress all young children in dresses and to distinguish their gender but how they parted their hair. A little girl’s hair was typically parted in the middle and little boys had their hair parted on the side. This is identified as a Van H. Bugbee Photo. The photo is in excellent condition.
